1 Liverpool St, London

Contract Summary

1 Liverpool Street Development is an Over Station Development (OSD) and consists of a new build commercial development in central London.

It is adjacent to Liverpool Street Underground station and built above the Liverpool Street Elizabeth Line - Crossrail Station, the LUL tunnel known as TL79.

The development consists of ten storeys of Grade A office space above ground, with three retail units and a large entrance hall at ground level. There are two levels and a mezzanine of partial basement. The extent of basement is limited by the adjacency to LUL tracks and the CRL ventilation structure.

Realtime package includes:

  • Installation of composite deck concrete slabs on levels 1 to 10
  • Installation of suspended lift shafts to level 1, directly above the TFL tracks.
  • Installation of pre-cast concrete façade panels and protection deck over the TFL tracks during engineering hours.

Key challenges:

  • Night shift working to allow progress in areas overhanging the TFL tracks.
  • Working on a constantly moving steel frame building due to the lack of concrete core and TFL trains running underneath it.
  • Working in a very busy and sensitive environment next to Liverpool St station.
